About the role:
As Ampol develops low carbon options for its customers to be Australia’s largest provider of eMobility charging solutions, we have an opportunity for a Business Development Manager with experience in executing strategic growth plans relating to e-Mobility business solutions.
Reporting to the Head of eMobility Business Solutions, this high-profile role will execute the BDM strategy to identify and ultimately deliver new customers wins, solution development, contract negotiation and reporting.
This is a key contribution role to the long-term success of Ampol’s Energy business and forms part of the eMobility Team. Target markets include but are not limited to government, SME, large corporate, last mile delivery and businesses looking to electrify their fleet.
This role can be based in either Sydney or Melbourne and includes a hybrid working option with flexibility dependent on scheduled delivery outcomes and stakeholder engagement requirements
Key responsibilities:
- Liaise with customers to understand their current and future eMobility needs
- Work collaboratively across teams including Deployment, Product, Marketing and Legal, and devise best in class eMobility solutions
- Learn about existing eMobility charging infrastructure solutions in the market.
- Execute plans and strategies for new business and achieving sales goals across the eMobility vertical of Businesses Solutions
- Execute go-to-market strategies across B2B and B2B2C markets
- Develop and execute the sales plan, prepare forecasts and reporting of eMobility sales on financial forecasting, budget setting and strategic planning
- Accountability and responsibility for originating, negotiating, and executing commercial agreements for EV charging infrastructure, operations, maintenance and offers across the eMobility ecosystem (Home, Public and Workplace)
- Establish the inbound and outbound lead requirements needed to meet business sales objectives
About you:
You will have proven experience in Business Development or Sales in eMobility Infrastructure or a related sector including Solar and Battery, Construction, Energy, Asset Management, or a complex supply chain commercial business for more than 5 years.
You are passionate about problem solving and developing solutions based on customer needs. You have worked with teams and see the value in bringing different perspectives to the table.
You are comfortable focusing your prospecting strategy on building strong relationships and adding value to potential customers well before tenders or contracts are issued and you have previously thrived in a start-up space having built out and delivered a sales strategy.
Supporting your business acumen will be your determined nature together with strong interpersonal skills to collaborating to achieve goals.
A tertiary qualification in Business, Electronics or an Engineering discipline would be advantageous but is non-essential.
Key skills and experience:
- Demonstrated experience in understanding unique business problems and development of solutions to satisfy customer needs
- Innovative thinker, able to conceptualise, develop and implement solution focused proposals
- Demonstrated experience is developing sales strategies from the ground up in a new market
- Action oriented person, drive projects and leverage networking in focus market segments
- Exceptional customer relationship and negotiation skills
- Excellent presentation, oral and written communication skills including the capacity to relate and listen effectively to Technical and Business Managers
